Rajeev Jaiman


Professor

Dr. Jaiman is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and the NSERC/Seaspan Industrial Research Chair in Intelligent and Green Marine Vessels. He leads UBC’s Computational Multiphysics Laboratory, where his research focuses on digital twins, scientific machine learning, and computational modeling for marine and Arctic systems. His Lab plays a key role in Canada’s major ocean initiatives, including the Qanittaq CFREF program on Arctic shipping and multiple industry-government partnerships on sustainable ship design, underwater noise mitigation, and Arctic operations. He is a fellow of Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (SNAME) and has recently served as a Co-Chair of the ASME Marine & Arctic Engineering Conference (OMAE 2025) conference in Vancouver.
